Perforated sheets - our core product in transition

Our core product in transition

Perforated sheets have been an integral part of our product range since FACO was founded in 1999. This area is subject to constant change, which requires us to be highly adaptable. You can read about how we position ourselves in our latest blog.

Perforated sheets have been an integral part of our product range not only since FACO was founded in 1999. For more than 15 years before that, the founders André Fahl and Bernd Coordt had held management positions in companies producing perforated sheets. Perforated sheets, like many other products, are subject to change as the areas of application and requirements change. That's why we want to report today on the development of our perforated sheets division.
When we started our company, we already had customers from a wide range of industries. As a result, we already had quite a wide range of perforated sheets in stock for a company of our size. Our processing options were still very limited at that time.
Perforated sheets as an optical element were in great demand for a while in the area of balcony and stair railings. Originally cut from stock perforated sheets with an edging profile as a stability-giving element, later as special sheets with unperforated areas and folded edges for stability and fastening. Over time, the desired perforations changed from DIN standard perforations to design perforations with less transparency. A few years ago, the trend shifted from glass elements to all-glass railings.
Such end-consumer trends and changes in the European market require us to adapt flexibly. Factors influencing the global market are currently steel shortages, supply difficulties and rising production costs.

Trade and further processing from a single source

While perforated sheet manufacturers generally do not have a warehouse and regular dealers do not offer processing, we are positioned exactly in between. Customers can buy customised perforated sheets from us, but also order further processing. This saves time and money. Standard perforations such as square, slotted or round perforations for materials such as stainless steel, aluminium and steel are our main business. We work across all industries. Customised products are also playing an increasingly important role, including the production of very small quantities.

Flexibility is our strength

We have customised our machinery to meet the most popular requirements.
The strip press is the classic perforating method, in which the perforating process is carried out strip by strip and individual perforated fields can be produced using CNC control.
The wide press perforates across the entire width in a single operation. This method is suitable for smaller sheet thicknesses and larger product series.
On the punch nibbling machine, several different perforations can be realised in a single operation, as well as perforations deviating from the usual standard dimensions. Precise contour processing is also possible.
To complete our range of services, we also offer the option of producing laser-cut perforated sheets.

Perforated bearing plates

Over the last 20 years, we have continued to expand our extensive stock. At peak times, we have up to 400 types of perforated sheets in stock. Calculating daily prices has always been a matter of course for us, and we can currently offer fixed prices for up to two days.
For an up-to-date stock overview, our stock items are integrated into the product finder and can be selected according to the most common characteristics such as material, hole width, hole shape and weight.  This enables our customers to make their pre-selection directly and submit their enquiry digitally, allowing us to calculate even faster. This is more important than ever in an uncertain market with material and delivery bottlenecks.
